Is Root Keyboard free?
Yes. Root Keyboard is free to download and every feature is available on the free plan. You get 5,000 one-time trial words when you first sign in, free bonus words every day through the daily streak, and 2,000 bonus words for each friend you invite. Subscriptions add a bigger allowance of words each week, month or year.
What are words?
Words are how Root Keyboard measures AI use. Each AI action uses a few words from your wallet, based mainly on how long the AI's answer is. Typing, themes, clipboard, emoji search and Bangla phonetic typing never use words. Subscription words are used first, then bonus words, then trial words.
Does Root Keyboard read or store what I type?
No. What you type stays on your phone and is never stored on our servers. Text is sent to an AI provider only when you tap an AI feature such as Grammar, Tone or Translate, and only the text that feature needs. We don't log it or save it to your account.

Clever Reply uses Android's accessibility service, which you have to turn on yourself. When you tap Clever Reply, it reads the last message in the conversation on screen in WhatsApp, Messenger, Telegram or Gmail and suggests positive, neutral and negative replies, or expands your short draft. It does nothing until you tap it, and you can turn the permission off at any time in Android settings.
Can I type in Bangla?
Yes. Type Bangla phonetically with English letters (for example "ami tomake bhalobashi") and Root Keyboard writes আমি তোমাকে ভালোবাসি, with suggestions as you type. You can also translate between Bangla and 40+ other languages.
Which apps does it work in?
Root Keyboard replaces your phone's keyboard, so it works anywhere you can type: chat apps, email, social media, notes and browsers.
Is there an iPhone version?
Not yet. Root Keyboard is available on Google Play for Android today, and the iPhone version is on the way. Tap the App Store badge to be told the day it launches.
How do referral rewards work?
Share your invite link from the app. When a friend installs Root Keyboard with your link, signs in and the referral qualifies, you receive 2,000 bonus words. You can earn rewards for up to 7 friends, which adds up to 14,000 bonus words.
How do I cancel a subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Google Play. Open the Play Store, tap your profile picture, go to Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions, choose Root Keyboard and tap Cancel. You keep your words until the end of the period you paid for.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, open Settings, then Account, then Delete account. You can also e-mail [email protected] from the address on your account. Your data is removed within 30 days.
