Delete your Root Keyboard account

You can delete your Root Keyboard account (by Root Devs) and its data at any time, from the app or by e-mail. We remove your data within 30 days.

Last updated 27 October 2026

Delete in the app

  1. Open the Root Keyboard app.
  2. Go to Settings → Account → Delete account.
  3. Confirm. You’ll be signed out and your account is scheduled for deletion straight away.

Delete by e-mail

If you can’t open the app, e-mail [email protected] with the subject “Delete my Root Keyboard account”. Send it from the e-mail address on your account, or include the account id shown in Settings → Account, so we can find it. We may ask you to confirm the request before we delete anything.

What gets deleted

Within 30 days of your request we permanently delete:

  • your account id and sign-in links to Google or Apple, including your name and e-mail;
  • your words wallet: balances and transaction history for subscription, bonus and trial words;
  • daily bonus history, your referral code and referral records;
  • usage counts linked to your account;
  • settings and custom tones or assistants saved to your account.

We never stored the text you typed, so there is nothing of that kind to delete. Data that lives only on your phone (such as clipboard history and themes) is removed when you uninstall the app or clear its data.

What we may keep

  • A peppered device hash, which can’t identify you, so the same phone can’t claim the one-time trial words again.
  • Purchase records we are legally required to keep for tax and accounting. Google Play and RevenueCat keep their own purchase records under their policies.
  • Aggregate statistics that don’t identify you (for example, the total number of translations in a day).

Before you delete

  • Cancel your subscription first. Deleting your account doesn’t cancel billing. Open Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Root Keyboard → Cancel.
  • Any remaining words, including bonus words, are lost and can’t be restored.
  • Uninstalling the app on its own does not delete your account.

See our privacy policy for more about the data we hold.
